The past few days I have been losing display signal intermittently. I changed connections multiple times, but each time I would have to restart my PC. The screen would lose signal, I could still hear the game for a moment in the background, then a full freeze. Restarting the PC worked for a while until it happened again, sometimes a few hours later. I’ve had no major issues for 4 years up to this point.

I did common fixes, such as:
– Checking connections
– Changing cables
– Re-seating GPU
– Drivers, updates, etc.

I saw a comment deep in a thread about a burnt connection on a VGA cable, so I took my PC apart today. What I found is as follows:

– 3/8 pins on VGA1 on my power supply melted into the power supply. I had to tear it out. Pictures attached.

I have contacted EVGA regarding whether or not I can use VGA2 for my GPU with a new cable. I’ll update, any feedback from you all is welcome. I am posting this for anyone who will run into this issue in the future.

Specs:
EVGA Supernova 850 G5
EVGA Hybrid 3080
Plenty other parts that do not pertain to this issue

Any feedback or similar experiences are welcome!
