I’ve been testing the new version of Cache and noticed that several environmental elements have the wrong surface physics assigned to them.
Specifically, many props and structures that are visually metal or wood are producing stone/concrete bullet impact decals and sound effects. This happens even on objects where the texture clearly indicates a different material.
This affects both the visual feedback (decals) and the audio clarity during gunfights. I've put together a few examples in the video/screenshots below where you can see stone dust coming out of metal containers and wooden crates.
Beyond the visual decals, there is a major audio inconsistency with the vent (duct) near Checkers.
Currently, walking or running on the vent produces stone/concrete footstep sounds instead of the distinct metallic sound. This is a game-breaking issue for competitive play, as it provides completely misleading audio cues for players holding B site or Mid.
