been chasing this one for a while and finally hit the top spot on steel nomad today. ended up with a 5059 which i’m pretty stoked about since most 3080s seem to sit around 4400.
specs are 3080 strix at 2085 peak and 2061 average, memory at plus 1260 and 900mv locked. cpu is at 5.1ghz
the secret was a cold soak trick since it was freezing here this morning. i set a minus 502 offset profile and let the fans rip at 100 percent until the card hit 17 degrees idle. launched it from there and it averaged 45 degrees the whole run and only hit 54 max. keeping the temps that low meant the clocks stayed dead stable
had some issues with invalid scores at first but switching the driver to quality and allowing negative lod bias fixed the verification and gave me a tiny bit more performance.
pretty happy with this for a second hand card i had to deep clean and repaste. anyone else trying the sub chilling thing with offset profiles? seems to work way better than just a standard idle
