Basically I’m just feeling nostalgic for the visuals for these two generations of gaming(I chose the image of twilight princess because it released on both) and I’m wondering if anyone else feels the same.
I don’t know what it really is about these two gens of graphics that makes me so nostalgic, maybe it’s because they couldn’t do pure photorealism so they all had to stylize it to an extent, maybe it’s due to those limitations it encouraged more games to go for more interesting art directions idk.
Of course I’m not saying more modern games don’t look good, a lot of them look great. But there’s just something about these games that always make me miss when gaming looked like that.
I especially love the looks of games such as Twilight Princess(the given example), Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, Wind Waker, Silent Hill 2 & 3, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy 10 12 & 13, Persona 4, and Devil May Cry. Heck even some PC games that released around the same time Such as The Sims 2 & Sims Medieval as well as Bioshock I feel really nostalgic for these two generation’s visuals of.
Anyways just getting my thoughts out and wondering if anyone feels similarly
