Can someone give me an example of when bullet speed becomes detrimental to the outcome of a fight?

Been playing for almost 3 years now and the only conclusion I can come to is it’s a matter of preference and may be a little accuracy? I’d like to hear all’s thoughts in any sort of times you can give me where this factor played a huge role.
