So the Wunderfizz, walk up to the machine and grab the perk you want, even multiple if you have cash to spare. It’s a fairly easy machine to use and it allows you to quickly regain perks. It’s… not amazing.
But we already know that’s not the first Wunderfizz, we did have the older one. Y’know, spend 1500 points and get a random perk you don’t already have, even contains some perks that aren’t in the map like Electric Cherry and PhD in bo2 Origins.
A lot of people have stated that the modern Wunderfizz makes perk locations redundant and also makes survivals maps very easy (looking at Mars), with the suggestion that reverting the Wunderfizz back to it’s old formula would help. However, it… really wouldn’t.
Honestly, it might even make the gameplay even worse. If we assume it’s just a straight translation from say BO2/BO3/WW2’s system to modern zombies, all you really changed is that the perk regaining is slightly slower and also cheaper, meaning the power level of the player gets stronger faster while also still making perk locations redundant.
It’d also probably make set-up on survival maps more annoying too. I’m not defending the modern Wunderfizz, but I’d rather just buy Jug instead of having to rely on a gambling machine only to get fuckin… Death Perception and Melee Macchiato.
The only way I could see it working is if they added a few other perk machines in survival maps and you tied the Wunderfizz to a side EE you had to do to unlock it, but that’s probably a bit hard to do if we wanna put 4/5 perk locations (plus a Wunderfizz) on MARS. Other survival maps might be easier tho-
*Then again, I’m sure this is more of an issue with the perk limit being nothing rather than the issue with the Wunderfizz itself.* But still, it’s not exactly the perfect answer for the machine itself.
Though that’s just BO6/7, what about MW3 or Vanguard?
Imagine going to the tier 3 location in MW3 and the only perk machine there is just another mystery box, not to mention YOU ARE IN TIER 3. You’re going to get swamped if you don’t have Stamin-Up/start to laze around for a gun or perk spin. Vanguard wouldn’t even work since it’s only 5 perks so uh yea let’s ignore it
So yeah… it probably wouldn’t be the best idea. Would it be more fair/fun than the current Wunderfizz? Yea, yet it has the same issue of “why can’t I just train here and get the same amount of perks but at a discount?”. Again, more of an issue with the fact of a perk limit not existing (also Klaus Jobs- I mean Tedd Tasks), but still.
