There’s technically 4 Japanese players already qualified, but those are from victories at Capcom Cup 12

Street Fighter 6 is still going strong into what will be its fourth competitive season, especially when it comes to the game’s home country.
Capcom has now revealed more details about the Capcom Pro Tour 2026 season, which will put some more emphasis on Japan specifically.
Like before, there is going to be 48 players competing for a spot at Capcom Cup 13 next year though the breakdown of where they come from is a bit different this time.
The most interesting adjustment comes in the World Warrior category.
last year, there were four Super Regions that received two Capcom Cup slots each, but now there’s only one, Japan.
Their official graphic shows Japan as being separate from the rest of the World Warrior events, so China, Asia East and UK-Ireland are losing their extra spots.
Instead, those three placements are going to Chile as a new region along with one more Premier winner and one more world leaderboard ranking.
So the final breakdown is 16 players from Premiers, 26 from World Warriors, the Capcom Cup 12 winner, the Street Fighter League World Championship 2025 winning team and the Esports World Cup 2026 champ.

Capcom is again skipping out on holding a last chance qualifier for Capcom Cup 13 it seems.
And with the way things are set up now, there are already four Japanese players qualified for Capcom Cup 13 before this season officially begins though that comes down to victories last month.
Capcom Cup 12 champion G8S|Sahara is in along with Team Reject comprised of Reject|Tokido, DRX|Leshar, Reject|Fuudo and Reject|Daigo Umehara.
So there will at least be six Japanese players at the Street Fighter 6 finals next year with more that can get in through Premiers.
Said Premiers are set to kick off next month with Evo Japan 2026 and Combo Breaker 2026 followed by Blink Respawn, Evo 2026, BAM16, CEO, Evo France and two more that have yet to be announced — though we wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them in Japan too.
World Warrior events will also begin in May as well.
They’ve already said that Capcom Cup 13 is going to be held in Japan for the third year in a row though it hasn’t been announced if they’re going to do the pay-per-view route again.
Every Street Fighter 6 character is getting a free costume sometime this year too at least.
The Capcom Pro Tour 2026 season sports a prize pool of over $2 million with $1 million going to the Capcom Cup winner and an increased $700,000 for the winning SFL team.
