The next major fighting game is releasing later this month in Invincible VS, and players will be able to try it out for themselves for free in a couple of days.

Skybound Games has now released their official beginner’s guide video for Invincible VS to allow interested fans to get to learn how the 3v3 tag fighter works in the incoming open beta test.

As we’ve already known, the game will launch with 18 characters and a whopping 14 stages that can be destroyed though not all of them will be available in the beta.

Aruuu goes over all of the standard modes from Training to Story and Ranked with the help of a lot of swearing.

A good chunk of this video is aimed more at casual players and those who don’t play many fighting games, so they have to go over how light, medium and heavy attacks work as well as specials with simplified inputs.

Each fighter also has two Supers and one Ultimate as well as an auto-combo by mashing the light attack.

One thing that does make this game stand out is the Boost mechanic where every fighter has three bars below their health that can be used to buff their attacks and movement options.

Another aspect to flesh out the game’s depth is the combo meter, which will break the opponent out of a string once full, but you can take different actions like tagging characters to lower the bar and keep things going.

And if time runs out in a match, it becomes sudden death where all remaining resources are pooled into a single fighter where their health constantly drains until just one is left standing.

They also delve more into the tag mechanics with active tagging and Assist Breakers to get out of combos at the cost of two boost meters.

The Invincible VS beta is scheduled to run from April 9–11 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (though no PC), and players can earn some rewards by checking out the test.

Quarter Up is putting the top 20 ranked players from the beta in Invincible VS’ final credits to be immortalized while everyone who plays will receive an exclusive costume for Omni-Man — though probably not the Thicc Omni-Man that was teased.

You can check out the full beginner’s guide below though be warned there’s a lot of strong language throughout the video.
