Netflix is expanding its kids and family offering with a broader lineup of shows, films and games, alongside the launch of a new gaming experience, Netflix Playground.

Designed for children aged eight and under, Netflix Playground brings interactive play into the platform, allowing kids to engage with popular characters such as Peppa Pig and Sesame Street. The app will be available globally starting April 28 and is included within existing memberships, without ads or in-app purchases.

As part of the expansion, Netflix has also announced a new preschool series, Young MacDonald, along with renewals of existing titles such as Trash Truck and The Creature Cases. Additional content from franchises including Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss and CoComelon Lane is also set to roll out.

Commenting on the move, John Derderian, vice president of Animation Series, Kids & Family TV at Netflix, said: “We’re building a world where kids can not only watch their favorite stories, they can step inside them and interact with their favorite characters. We’re creating a seamless destination for discovery, learning, and play.”

The expansion reflects Netflix’s focus on creating a more integrated and curated ecosystem for younger audiences, combining entertainment with interactive experiences while offering parents greater control and assurance.
