… And it’s too late now to transfer user data unfortunately

The inevitability of live service games, especially free ones, is that they’ll go away eventually, but it’s never a good feeling when they do.

GungHo Online Entertainment has now officially shut down the mobile Capcom card game, Teppen, though you can at least still play it in some fashion.

It was announced back in December last year that Teppen would be ending service on March 30, 2026, which has now come to pass almost seven years since launching.

Unfortunately, I completely missed that memo and was surprised to learn it was already taken down this week, which sucks because I did put a lot of time into Teppen when it launched and even reached the highest rank.

Unlike when The King of Fighters Allstar shut down at least, Teppen is still offering an offline mode to continue deck building and battling against the CPU.

[Important Notice 1]

We regret to announce that TEPPEN will be ending service on March 30th, 2026 at 20:00 (PT)/March 31st, 2026 at 3:00 (UTC).

We thank the many users who have supported TEPPEN since its release back in 2019.

Another reason I’m sad is Teppen did offer an offline version data transfer to keep your cards and unlocks, but that ended with March as well — so that option is no longer available.

While it is nice to have an offline version, it appears interested fans will only have a limited window to download and keep the game.

The end of service announcement states that app distribution and availability of the offline update is going to end on April 29, 2026, so you’d have to download the game and login sometime in the next few weeks to have it in the future.

For this offline version, players can no longer open card packs, but you are given 50,000 Souls, so you have enough funds to completely craft multiple decks of your liking.

Hero Stories, Adventure, Random Match, Select Match, Edit Deck and View/Reap/Craft Cards remain as available modes in the offline version.

Teppen launched back in mid-2019 featuring hundreds / thousands of crossover cards themed around Capcom properties, including a ton for Street Fighter and Darkstalkers.

The likes of Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Morrigan were all selectable heroes along with others who appeared in Marvel vs. Capcom games with Dante, Amaterasu, Jill Valentine and Mega Man X.

Teppen previously added Street Fighter 6 themed expansions too.
