The story would have carried much more weight if The Guild had been framed as a direct stand-in for a company like Palantir. Moving the timeline up to 2026 or 2027 would have made the stakes feel immediate and grounded rather than distant. To be frank, it feels like a missed opportunity to not fully explore Menendez’s critique of American hegemony fueled by technological hubris (something BOII only scratched the surface of, but this campaign could have truly centered it to its full capacity).
