During the Arc World Tour 2025-2026 Finals today, Arc System Works finally showed off the long-awaited Guilty Gear Strive 2.0.
Guilty Gear Strive producer Ken Miyauchi took to the stage and gave us the first proper look at Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 which will feature many changes to the game including a new season pass featuring four characters, with the first one being returning favorite Jam Kuradoberi.
The 2.0 version of Guilty Gear Strive will feature many new additions, including a big balance update.
There are also new battle mechanics shown in the trailer called Counter Blitz which will be implemented at the same time as the questionably received Wild Assault mechanic from earlier updates is set to be entirely removed from the game.
Many characters will also receive brand new special moves, with Leo, Nagoriyuki, Ky and Sol being showcased in the trailer.
New colors are also coming, including a “Haunted” set which makes characters look ghostly and spooky and there will also be new outfits with a special dress shown for Dizzy.
Another new feature is a battle pass which rewards you for playing the game with various bonuses, called “Blazing Pass”. This is set to be implemented in May of this year. This is where things like colors, accessories and costumes may be obtained.
Finally, the 2.0 update comes with a full Season 5 pass featuring new characters, starting off with the return of Jam Kuradoberi who is heavily featured in the trailer with lots of gameplay, which you can catch below.
Jam will release with the 2.0 update on April 9th with three more characters following. Robo-Ky will be coming out in Summer 2026 followed by two currently unknown characters releasing in Winter 2026 and Spring 2027, respectively. Check out the image gallery below.
