After a few years of development, the new Street Fighter film is on the way later this year, and now we can get a bit of a different look at it.

During Capcom Cup 12, new behind-the-scenes footage of the fighting game movie was showcased featuring the actors and Street Fighter 6’s Director.

These new videos appear to have been taken when Street Fighter 6 Director Takayuki Nakayama was invited to the movie set to meet with the cast and give his approval on what they’re trying to pull off.

“The Director and everyone else involved in the production all love Street Fighter and are fans just like us, which gives me great comfort,” said Nakayama.

“I think they’ve managed accomplish something very difficult in a really smart way. This is the Street Fighter I know.”

On top of that, we get to see more of the actors in their world warrior costumes while talking about the fighting game and Nakayama.

“All of us, we’re going to do our best to honor the characters and bring them to life in the best way they’ve ever been brought, ever,” said Ryu’s Andrew Koji to the SF6 Director.

“I played it on my PS4, my PS5,” said Chun-Li actor Callina Liang.

“I was obsessed with Street Fighter,” said Andrew Schulz, who plays Dan Hibiki.

“I just hit the buttons so fast and then see what happens,” said rapper 50 Cent portraying Balrog.

They also show Nakayama taking on WWE’s Cody Rhodes in his Guile wardrobe in Street Fighter 6 too.

It’s also funny to get more perspective on just how massive Zangief’s actor Olivier Richters is at 7’2″ considering Nakayama barely comes up to his chest.

The dude is canonically taller than Gief is in the games, and he looks like he was born to play the role.

This comes after the sneak peek teaser was unveiled for the Street Fighter film at The Game Awards last year, but we’re still waiting on the first proper trailer.

Legendary’s fighting game adaptation is set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.
