Announced last year, Never’s End is a tactical RPG with a procedurally generated world and an involved environment-manipulating magic system, where changing the temperature of the battlefield around you can cause a variety of effects, such as creating wind, freezing enemies, or setting foes on fire.

Alongside the demo, a new trailer can be found below, alongside a description, via Hypersect. Never’s End is set to release in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam).

Never’s End, the tactical RPG boasting deeply granular, systems-driven combat and environment-manipulating magic, debuts its first publicly available demo on PC via Steam today.

Hypersect, an indie studio led by the former Lead Sandbox Engineer from Bungie, will launch Never’s End on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 in 2026. Today’s demo gives players a sneak peek at both the innovative combat and the beautifully rendered 3D pixel art world featuring character designs by Masayoshi Nishimura (Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy) and music by Doseone (Enter the Gungeon).

Explore a slice of the game’s diverse locations, including scorching deserts, arctic tundra, fortified outposts, and deadly crypts. Possess local townsfolk to serve you in combat, each with randomized traits and professional backgrounds that affect their functionality in battle. Experiment with a variety of weapons, armor, and consumables, as well as the most unique feature of the game: its magic.

Never’s End’s combat demo gives players access to the first magic system – the ability to manipulate heat.

“The demo is a deep well of intertwined mechanics you’ll find in the main game,” said Ryan Juckett, founder of Hypersect. “By moving heat around on the battlefield, you can create gusts of wind to kick up dust clouds or knock enemies off cliffs. You can light enemies on fire or freeze them in ice. You can even change weather patterns into fog, rain, or snow. The more you play, the more uses for magic you’ll discover. Honestly, we can’t wait to see what people do with it.”

Get your first taste of the world of Never’s End today in the brand new demo on PC via Steam. Never’s End will launch on PC and PlayStation 5 in 2026 with English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Japanese-language support.
