When I first took it apart, I didn’t think it was worth it.
But we are on the poverty line, so I wanted to try.
The only thing I spent money on was isopropyl, canned air, thermal pads for the GPU, and gloves / masks.
Cleaned and let to dry over two days.
The PSU still had a very faint smell when warm, but it’s not noticeable now.
The GPU crashed a few times so I re applied the paste and checked the pads. All temps normal and no crashes in 6 months.
For some context:
The most I’ve done is build one pc from scratch. Other than that I have only done GPU / HD / RAM upgrades. And the odd CPU paste change.
Pretty proud of this project.
