When it comes to price-to-performance ratios, the RTX 5070 Ti mobile is one of the best graphics cards to go for in a gaming laptop, coming in a fair bit more affordable than the RTX 5080 alternative, but still being great for QHD+ gaming and more demanding creative workflows. It has 5,888 CUDA cores and 12GB of high-speed, high-bandwidth GDDR7, and can easily handle 1440p at high fps, alongside entry-level 4K performance, if you tweak some settings and use MFG. Notably, you’ve got 4th-gen ray tracing cores, which are about twice as fast as the previous generation, and are designed to handle more complex scenarios much better, allowing for better real-time reflections, lighting, and shadows for a more immersive gaming experience. There’s also 5th-gen tensor cores, which power features like MFG, but also support Nvidia Broadcast effectively. For creatives, you’ve got 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders, which improve video and streaming quality, export times, and much more, too.

Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 processor

The Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 is a solid, all-rounder processor that’s great for gaming and has good multitasking capabilities. It has a 5.1GHz boost clock speed and 24MB L3 cache, which makes it good for high fps at the RTX 5070 Ti’s target 1440p/4K resolution. It’s 12 cores and 24 threads are also excellent for handling multiple tasks at once, such as gaming and streaming, or working with multi-layered video editing workflows. It also has a dedicated NPU with 55 TOPS, which is going to come in handy for tasks like video calling with background filters, live translation, and live noise reduction, without taking away from the CPU.

Display

Things to consider

If you’re a content creator, it pays to get a display with a broad color range and excellent accuracy, and this isn’t always the case with gaming laptops. Personally, if you’re planning on using your gaming laptop for content creation or professional video editing, for example, then I’d check out ASUS ROG Strix and Lenovo Legion laptops, both of which have notably impressive screens with very high DCI-P3 coverage.
