If you’re active around here you might’ve seen me ranting and raving about Broken Arrow and missed potential around both Paradox Junction and Alpha Omega before, so I thought it’d be a good time to put some images/proof to everything I’ve said.
Since we were in the midst of the original Aether storyline I’ve always thought Broken Arrow as a faction, lore point and host to zombies map locations has been massively underused. And it has never been more apparent to me than with our SECOND REVISIT to Nuketown still featuring none of the cool Broken Arrow stuff around it.
Since the loading screen for the original Nuketown zombies we’ve seen this design for a massive machine in the middle of the desert, that machine is Broken Arrow’s main 115 drill, the heart of their mining operations in America, shown on that map right there besides camp Edward (which if you didn’t play alpha omega, is Nuketown)
As you can see, that’s not even the only location right besides Nuketown, Groom Lake is right next to it all as well, as is the 115 Depository which would be their main storage for all the 115 gathered and used in these locations.
Camp Edward/Nuketown, is the heart of a MASSIVE Broken Arrow complex made with the help of Group 935 scientists in the middle of the desert. The 115 drill mines up 115, the APD which we saw under Alpha Omega turns it into power, and that power is then used in Groom Lake and other relatively nearby areas like the Hartford Campus and the Application Testing Campus you see near the top of that map. (Those would be the labs near tranzit that Russman worked in, where Broken Arrow worked on mutating animals with 115, another set of areas we’ve only heard about but not seen)
We’ve only heard in passing of all the things Broken Arrow made in all these facilities, like the creatures in Hartford briefly shown through silhouettes in old zombies comics, or all the Broken Arrow made wonderweapons we’ve never seen. For example the ray gun mark four and mark FIVE. Yeah, Classified’s pap camos actually teased at upgrades to the ray gun mark two that actually looked unique, as well as two extra marks of it we’ve never got our hands on (that picture up there is of the red pap camo from classified)
All this stuff has just been sitting there for years, and this is just teasers and hints they’ve put out there, who knows if they had any more in depth plans around Broken Arrow internally. Regardless, the ideas are there, you’ve got enough stuff to make MULTIPLE exciting new maps packed with content JUST with loose ends left over from Broken Arrow.
I mean for goodness sakes, this stuff is supposed to be RIGHT THERE besides Nuketown, and here we are going to it again and you don’t even lean on the stuff someone that was clearly much more passionate about the mode already laid out and planned for you YEARS ago!!!
Man… I seriously wonder if there’s anyone left in that team that even remembers some of this stuff. I mean even if you know you don’t have the time and resources for half of it, at least return to a place we haven’t already returned to in the past! We’ve only seen one room of Groom Lake, why not that instead? The Hartford Campus which essentially already has concept art made through the comics? Why not that? But no, Nuketown and only Nuketown, probably the least interesting bit of everything that’s supposed to be around it
