Tekken 8 competitor yOReDz was able to achieve 13th place finishes at Evo Japan 2025 and Tekken World Tour 2025 Finals, both with Xiaoyu. However, Tekken is about to undergo a significant meta shift with the Season 3 patch and its “back to basics” design philosophy.
As a result, yOReDz dropped a “tier list” of sorts that provides his wish list in terms of how he wants characters to be buffed and nerfed. Needless to say, he’s hoping that the vast majority of the roster receives their fair share of nerfs.
Not surprisingly, the top tiers of Tekken 8 Season 2 are deserving of the most nerfs. These characters include Bryan, Anna, Asuka, Alisa, Fahkumram and more.
The “simple nerf” tier category has the highest number of characters present in it. Fighters like Nina, Jin, King, Lidia, Lars, Armor King, Leroy, Dragunov, Feng, Kazuya, Heihachi and Clive can be found here.
It would seem that the general consensus for the community is to see the vast majority of the roster toned down in some capacity. Of course, players still want the game to feel fun, but there needs to be better counterplay as well.
In total, there are only three characters that yOReDz would like to see buffs for. They are Xiaoyu, Kuma and Panda.
