BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Board gamers and trading card enthusiasts gathered in Bangor February 28 and March 1.
The Mainely Meeple Con was on for the weekend at Hollywood Casino.
The convention included tournaments for trading card games and Warhammer, a board game library and much more.
Multiple game shops were there as vendors, giving players the opportunity to buy the games they were trying out.
The event’s organizers, Jillian McCrohan and Forrest Meader, hope that the convention will help bring board gamers of any experience together.
“Intentional face time is, I think, is one of the board gaming world’s biggest goals, said McCrohan.
Meader highlighted how events like this help show just how many people enjoy the hobby. “It’s one of those things where board gaming, and DND, and trading card games. These are all like these niche hobbies that lots and lots of people actually participate and play in.”
This is the first ever Mainely Meeple Con and organizers hope to continue hosting the event and to make it even larger.
