Hi all, I am looking to overclock my RAM, but although I have a full watercooled system I have been hesitate to watercool my RAM yet and I wanted to see how I can mount a fan on my RAM, but not lose the aesthetics of my Gskill CL26 6000 RAM and after searching I found these Artic S4028-15K fans on Amazon for $13 and gave it a try, and I have to same the temperature difference has been great without affecting my aesthetics. I attached them to my motherboard using clear double sided heavy duty tape.
My 2 stick Dim temps after OCCT 15min full stress test increased by RAM to 61.2-61.8 degrees prior to adding the fan, and after adding the fan the temps were 47 – 48.2 degrees. I think that is well worth it at least for me.
Now these fans are loud at 15K RPM, they sound like a plane. I bump it down to 30% almost 4.6K and I still hear them, but not as much. There is a 6K fan variant Artic S4028-6K that I may try soon. I did buy a 44mm Noctua as well, but I don’t like the color and does not go well with my black build.
