Today, the Virtua Fighter Open Championship Global Finals are happening in Tokyo, Japan.
The players participating in the event are Hydrix|Akani Shiwapo, DFM|Itabashi Zangief, Tonchan, MGG|ChinpanJ, HimaJean, MGG|Reorao, SF|GentlemanThief, Virgo, Shiokara and Nero.
These Global Finals are a culmination of players’ efforts throughout the year to qualify for this final competition where the grand prize is on the line.
A total prize pool of $130,000 is up for grabs with the lion’s share of $100,000 going directly to the champion.
Since there are 10 players participating, they will be divided up into 2 groups which will be played in a round robin format.
Group A has MGG|ChinpanJ, Nero, Shiokara, SF|GentlemanThief and Hydrix|Akani Shiwapo while Group B conists of Virgo, Tonchan, MGG|Reorao, DFM|Itabashi Zangief and HimaJean.
The top two players in each group qualify for a final top 4 single-elimination bracket to decide the eventual winner.
