What classic PS1 shooter is getting a surprise PS5 port?

The PlayStation 1 mecha shoot ’em up 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X is officially set to release on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 16, 2026. The new release brings the game stateside for the first time, as Geppy-X was originally only released in Japan in 1999. The game has become a cult classic over the years for its art style and music.

The new HD release of Geppy-X will feature a brand new HD look for the game, as well as some modern upscaling techniques to help enhance the clarity of the game. The animation of the in-game videos have also been restored to its original 24 frames per second, and much more.
