Spoiler—Don’t read if you’re not through the Never Fade storyline involving Alt Cunningham!

When Johnny went to save Alt Cunningham he unknowingly killed her (body) by unplugging her from the system. He didn’t know that was what did it at the time, but it’s never really clear if he eventually finds out it was technically him that killed her while trying to save her (right?)

Even when V and Johnny talk to Engram Alt later in the game it’s not really clear if Johnny knows that by detaching her he literally cause her body to die.. V has the option to say “it was an accident” to which Alt replies “what you saw was a subjective view of what happened”, which makes things even more ambiguous.

My first playthrough was when the game released on my PS4 (that was rough my chooms) so I don’t recall all the details, but now playing w my shiny PS5 I’m able to focus on the story a bit more.

TLDR: Silverhand def feels guilt about what happened to human Alt, but it’s never really clear if he knows by unplugging her he is technically the one who killed her.
