Kill Finance Wiz James Stevenson is the eleventh main mission in High on Life 2 if you picked it after picking up your half-brother Jeppy. Stevenson is known as the financial wizard because he cooks the books for Rhea Pharmaceutical. This mission goes in an interesting direction that starts with simply checking his penthouse to find him. Follow our in-depth walkthrough for help finding James Stevenson, getting past many difficult areas, and solving the Blue Wizard’s riddles.

Locate James Stevenson’s Penthouse

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 1.jpg

As goes with most missions in High on Life 2, head down to the City Plaza, downtown. Then, you can follow your Info Scanner to find the building where James Stevenson’s penthouse is. Otherwise, you can turn to the right at the Circuit Arcadia sign and then make a left at the end. This will take you toward a big blue and yellow building.

You can also open your map to see the objective marker for where the building is. It’s near the top left of the Circuit Arcadia map. Upon getting here, head inside through the entrance. Then, try going to the elevator on the left where someone is blocking the path forward. You’d think something this simple wouldn’t prevent us from getting past, but we’ll need to look for a different path!

Finding a Different Way up to the Penthouse

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 2.jpg

Head outside and turn to your left when leaving the building. You’ll now see a truck here that originally wasn’t there. It says in big letters on both the back and side, “Slime Drive”. If you recall, this is a hint for what we can do with the truck. If you’re not sure, Tap to Reveal.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 3.jpg

Once you use the correct ability here, jump onto the nearby mattress and bounce up to the truck. Then, you can leap to the ledge with a blue tarp hanging over it, in front of the truck. After reaching the ledge, follow the wall leading to your left. This will lead you up some stairs until reaching a dead end, where you can climb up the wall on your right.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 4.jpg

Continue scaling your way up the building until you reach a railing that you can grind. This will help you get up to the next floor, where there’s a courtyard filled with plant life. Before you can continue, you’ll need to look for anything useful in the area. If you’re not sure where to look, the Info Scanner will clue you in a bit.

Otherwise, look for the raised spot in this area with a thin cable running up to it. You can use the nearby umbrella or a bounceable plant in the garden. You’ll find a button up here that activates a rotating sprinkler. Prepare to find many more of these up ahead since they’re often used to cross large gaps.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 5.jpg

Once the rotating sprinkler is active, use your skateboard to grind across it and over the wall on the other side. From here, we’ll start to find plant bulbs that look similar to the ones we interacted with in the first High on Life. For a refresher, you can shoot these pulsating plant bulbs to interact with nearby organic platforms.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 6.jpg

Hop onto the new plant platform and then double-jump to the nearby wall to get over it. This area has two plant bulbs you can shoot to create more platforms. First, you should use the one on your right so you can reach the spinning fan on the second-floor wall. Before jumping to the fan, remember, you’ll need to use Sweezy’s Time Bubble ability to get through it.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 7.jpg

Beyond the fan, you’ll find a hole that leads to a computer for activating another sprinkler. After doing so, head up the other plant platform so you can reach the rotating sprinkler. Then, similar to earlier, grind across it with your skateboard to get to the other side.

Pass through another small courtyard that then leads into a large greenhouse. While this area may look intimidating at first, with a bunch of plant bulbs here, don’t worry. Due to how the bulbs work, you can just shoot them all and the climb to the top. Before you do, you may want to hit the Luglox on the ground floor first for pesos.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 8.jpg

After exiting the greenhouse, there’s a sloped floor in front of you that you won’t be able to walk up. The floor scratches loosely hint that we’re supposed to use our skateboard here. After getting up here, you can use the railing to reach a ledge on your left. Then, turn around and jump to the other ledge, continuing upward.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 9.jpg

This path brings us to a large rotating sprinkler that is already active. All you have to do is get the timing right so you can grind it to the other side. Once you do, you’ll come across more plant bulbs to shoot.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 10.jpg

Unlike the previous plant bulbs we’ve shot to create platforms, this one is blocking a doorway. For this one, we can follow the pink root leading up the wall to the relevant bulb. Shooting this bulb removes the organic wall blocking the door.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 11.jpg

Head through the doorway to find another button for activating a sprinkler. After doing so, turn around and follow the hallway with orange slime. This leads to a Lugblob that we can use to get up a nearby wall opposite it. You’ll need to then use Sweezy’s Time Bubble to inflate the Lugblob.

After that, you can use her ability again to get through the spinning fan. Before you can reach the rotating sprinkler outside, you’ll have to use a nearby plant to bounce up another floor. Then, as usual, grind across the sprinkler to reach the other side.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 12.jpg

Beyond the sprinkler is a plant bulb that you can shoot. This will activate a platform that leads to a narrow hotwall above it. Use Gus’s disc ability to create a platform at the hotwall. You can then grapple up to it and reach the nearby ledge.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 13.jpg

Getting Past the Large Courtyard

This leads to a much larger courtyard with a lot going on. You may notice that there’s a spinning fan, a column of rotatable blocks, and even some junctions and amps. Before skipping to the steps we’ve put together, be sure to read the blue box below to not lose time here!

Don’t Jump Off the Roof!

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 17.jpg
Upon reaching this area, Suit-O emphasizes how careful you’ll need to be to not fall off the building. In order to save you time, we let the intrusive thoughts win and jumped off the roof. Surprisingly, Suit-O was telling the truth that there isn’t any benefit to doing so aside from losing time.

Here are some steps to help you get through it without being overloaded:

To the right of the column of rotatable blocks is a spinning fan. Use Sweezy’s Time Bubble ability on the fan so you can grab the Lugblob past it. High on Life 2 James Stevenson 14.jpgAfter getting the Lugblob, place it below the window to the left of the spinning fan. You’ll need to use Sweezy’s Time Bubble this time on the Lugblob. As we know, this will inflate it so we can reach the window above the Lugblob. Once you’re through the window, shoot the plant bulb inside here. Our next step is connecting the junctions and amps using Sheath. This part requires getting a little creative since you’ll need to arrange it just right to connect the sparking junction to the junction on the opposite side. To do so, Tap to Reveal. In case you forgot, you can shoot each block on the column to rotate it.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 15.jpg

Head through the open door to activate two rotating sprinklers. Return outside to the other side of the courtyard. You’ll then need to grind across both sprinklers to exit this area. If you want to skip the first one, you can grapple to the second sprinkler from the top of the block column.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 16.jpg

Enter James Stevenson’s Penthouse to Find Him

Once you get past the large courtyard, you’ll finally be just outside of James Stevenson’s penthouse. While Lizzie mentions that there should be a penetration point to get inside, you can break any window to enter. This leads to Sheath noting that he doesn’t sense anyone around. However, Gene mentions that he didn’t pick up anyone leaving on the radar either.

Now we’ll need to search for clues to find James Stevenson and where he could have gone. You can search his penthouse for anything that looks off or use your Info Scanner. This will highlight Tap to Reveal.

Take a look at the tall painting to the left of the fireplace. This one features a noble green alien sitting on a throne. Upon getting close to it, it’ll have a rippling effect similar to water. Hop into it to find James Stevenson’s Secret Toilet. Aside from a neat Easter Egg featuring a Radical Heights shirt, grab a book off the shelf. This will give you the 100 Funny Ways to Pee book that we’ll later need. Reenter the painting when ready to leave.High on Life 2 James Stevenson 18.jpgThe second painting we need to leap into is similar to the Dogs Playing Poker painting, where several dogs are around a poker table. You can bounce off a red couch near the center to reach it. This leads to a room with the book, The Wise Wizard Gentleman’s Pinup Collection, on a table. Grab the book and return to the penthouse.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 19.jpg

What to Do With the Penthouse Books

Once you have both books from the hidden penthouse paintings, you’ll need to place them somewhere. While it isn’t clear, if you’ve previously used your Info Scanner, you may notice what looks like a third hidden painting. It’s far beyond the bookshelf inside the penthouse.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 20.jpg

This is a little bit of a hint to take a look there. If you get close enough, you’ll see a book titled “Hidden Passages to see Before You Die”. And if you have both books at this point, you’ll be able to place them next to that one. After doing so, the bookshelf will open outward and reveal a hidden room.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 21.jpg

Head inside to find the third painting we can hop into. Unlike the previous two, this one leads to a larger world where the rest of the bounty takes place.

Get Your Bearings

Without much to go on inside this new world, explore around a little. You can cross the nearby bridge and continue along the path to pass through a tunnel. As you get close to the tunnel, you’ll hear someone calling out for help. Head through to find a few ghouly skeletons attacking a floating guy.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 22.jpg

Fortunately, there isn’t too much to fighting these blue skeletons. They either throw bones at you or throw their head at you. Unlike the bones, their head will explode, but you can parry it with Knifey. After throwing their head, they will run around blind and mostly useless.

After rescuing the weird little guy, he’ll toss you a peso for helping him. He then explains that he was banished to these woods and has nothing more to give. However, you can ask him some questions to learn a little more about this world. He explains that we’re in a magical fantasy land, and while he doesn’t know anything about James Stevenson, he knows someone who will. And that’s the Blue Wizard.

If you break any pots while around Apples, he’ll mention that those are his and that they’re all he’s got out here. Aside from occasionally getting money from broken pots, they’re also part of the achievement, “All Your Vase Are Belong to Us”.

All Your Vase Are Belong to Us

Before we can get to the Blue Wizard, we’ll need to escape the Misty Woods of Wonder. Our new friend Apples says to follow him to find our way out. Which, unfortunately, doesn’t help since he doesn’t guide us in any direction.

At best, Apples will occasionally comment when you enter a new room. This varies from pointing out that a room on fire is a dead end to telling you you’re close to the exit. We couldn’t confirm if the path out of the Misty Woods of Wonder is random or has a set path. Fortunately, there aren’t that many rooms, so it shouldn’t take too much experimentation.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 23.jpg

After reaching one room with a pile of pots near a caved-in tunnel, the path forward and to the right both led to the exit. You’ll know you’ve made it out when Apples comments in surprise that you’ve made it through.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 24.jpg

Once you successfully exit the woods, continue forward through the wide path. Right before you reach a flowing river, it will quickly become daytime. And as your Gatlian friends will comment, magical letters will appear showing that you’re in Prismeria.

Cross the River

To safely get across the water, you can use Sweezy’s Time Bubble ability to slow down the logs. Before using her ability, it helps to line yourself up with one of the islands near the middle of the river. This makes it easier, so you don’t have to cross the entire river while juggling using her ability on other logs.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 25.jpg

Once you’re on the other side, you’ll come across a Lugblob. While you can skateboard up part of the wall without using them, they’re clearly there for you to use. Therefore, grab the Lugblob and put them near the wall leading up the cliff. Then, use Sweezy’s Time Bubble to inflate them and bounce on up.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 26.jpg

Climb the Waterfall and Fight More Ghouls

Continue making your way up the side of the waterfall until you get to the waterfall itself. Similar to the river, we’ll need to use Sweezy’s Time Bubble on the falling logs. This makes it significantly easier to ride them across.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 27.jpg

Since we have our skateboard, you can grind across each log quickly to get to the other side. Be sure to stop in the middle so you can take a breather before moving onto the next log to slow. Once you get across, you’ll find more ghouls to kill. This area also introduces a yellow one that can shoot from its head and create purple clouds of asbestos. It may be bugged, but this cloud doesn’t deal any damage.

After clearing out the ghouls, continue to climb up the mountain. Once you wrap back around the waterfall again, you’ll need to use both Sweezy and Sheath. Despite being a magical world, we still have junctions and amplifiers to interact with. While it can be difficult to notice, there are two amplifiers you can connect to using Sheath’s ability.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 28.jpg

First, make sure you start with the junction and then connect in a linear path across. After doing so, you can ride the zipline while using Sweezy’s Time Bubble to slow down incoming logs. Since we’re not in combat, you will have enough time to cast her ability twice. One strategy here is to put a Time Bubble at the top of both sides before using the zipline.

Once you get to the other side, switch to Gus so you can put a disc into the hotwall. Grapple to that one and then further up, you should notice a second hotwall to shoot a disc at. Grappling to that one will finally get you past the waterfall.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 29.jpg

Before you can reach the town, you’ll need to fight off another batch of ghouls. Instead of slaying only blue and yellow ones, we’ll have to deal with green ghouls now. These ones will leap through the air toward you. After getting past the first few of them, you’ll start to see flying cherub enemies that shoot at you using their wands.

Enter the Town and Explore It

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 30.jpg

Once we finish clearing out enemies from outside the town gate, Apples asks to speak with us first. He explains that there was a big misunderstanding and that the townspeople don’t like him. Before continuing, he wants to know if we consider him our friend or not. This gives us four different choices depending on how you want to proceed.

We don’t really know you – TravisWe’re merely acquaintances – SheathWe’re best friends – CreatureUh, of course – Gus

In one playthrough, we picked Creature’s choice, which led to Apples being happy to hear that. Once you’re ready, ring the bell below him to speak with the town guards. They’ll quickly be angry upon seeing Apples and demand that you denounce him, despite not knowing what he did. This leads to the following four choices:

We didn’t know! – TravisWe just met – GusFuck that guy – SweezyApples is our friend – Creature

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 31.jpg

In one playthrough, we continued to pick Creature’s dialogue option. This led to the guards letting us in, but not Apples. Make your way beyond the gate where you’ll hear a town crier explain that an execution is happening later today.

Before making your way up the river using the floating logs, there are a couple of Lugloxes in the area. Using your radar, you may notice that there’s one near the golden Blue Wizard statue. Look around it to see if you can spot how to get the Luglox inside. If you’re not sure, Tap to Reveal. This one has a Sweezy upgrade inside, Crystal Overclock.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 32.jpg

The other location has two Lugloxes. You’ll find them inside a house with a locked door, just past the Blue Wizard statue. Since the door is locked, we’ll need to find an alternate way to get in. For help doing so, Tap to Reveal. After getting inside, you can reach the top Luglox for Comic Book Page 13+14 using Sheath. Then, there’s a small one for pesos at the bottom.

Once you’re ready, return to the river and head upstream. You can use Sweezy’s ability to slow down floating logs if you’re having trouble landing on them. After making your way a little bit up the river, you’ll find one person and a closed gate past them. You can climb over the gate using the crates near it. This will lead you further up the river to a Luglox and a gap to jump across.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 34.jpg

After crossing to the other side, there’s a glowing blue pot directly ahead of you. Break this to reveal an amplifier that Sheath can connect to. You can then connect it to a junction behind you, which leads to a junction above the door up ahead.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 35.jpg

Once you’ve connected all three points, head through the now open door. This is another way to continue upstream without having to leap between floating logs. You’ll eventually reach a few TNT barrels tucked behind a couple of crates. Look behind the barrels to find a Luglox with Comic Book Page 11+12 inside.

After opening the Luglox, leave the room toward a balcony that overlooks the river. You may think that you have to drop down to the logs, but not quite! Instead, there’s a small ledge to your right that you can drop down to. It has one small pot on it. Hop to here and then jump to the lower ledge on the opposite side. You can walk along this to the next stop-off point.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 36.jpg

Head up the steps where you’ll find a blacksmith hammering away at their forge. This is purely optional, but you can speak with them to learn about the Skate Letters around High on Life 2. You’ll also hear a little Easter Egg reference that outright mentions Tony Hawk. After speaking with them, you can go lose 50 pesos buying a Mud and Sticks item from someone near two mud piles.

How to Open the River Gate

Once you’re done here, you’ll have to briefly use the floating logs to continue upstream. This leads to a short wooden bridge, a little before a lowered gate. There are two paths here, even though the one High on Life 2 wants you to take is past the gate.

You can use Travis’s Glob Shot ability on the green arrow to the left of the gate to raise it. Then, you can use Sweezy’s Time Bubble ability to slow a log near the gate. It’s a tight fit that you may have to skateboard through or grapple to a log to get past the gate.High on Life 2 James Stevenson 37.jpgIf you want to skip the gate altogether, look at the door on your left on the bridge. You can jump to the ledge above the door, and then to the next ledge above you. After reaching the top, skateboard jump across back to the other side.High on Life 2 James Stevenson 38.jpgOpen the Gate Leading to the Gatlian Execution

Regardless of how you get past the river gate, you’ll find another locked one. As Sheath quickly points out, you’ll need to use his electric spike to unlock it. Before doing so, you can get an upgrade for Creature if you head up the nearby steps to a house. Inside is another door that leads to a Creature puzzle. You’ll have to use your laser pointer to guide one of his children through the maze without hitting any lasers.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 39.jpg

Once you’re ready to open the gate, head back outside. This area has two junctions and four amplifiers you’ll need to link together. Similar to the rotating block columns we’ve shot before, there is a large cool S that you can rotate. Doing so will make it easier to connect the amplifiers.

Make sure to keep an eye out for one hidden amp, Tap to Reveal. For more help connecting the junctions and amplifiers, check the spoiler tag below.

Show Spoilers

Start with the junction on the house with a satellite near it. This house is also to the right of the big S statue. Then, position the S statue amps on the same side away from the wall. Connect from the junction to the bottom amp, then top amp, then across to an orange wall amp. Afteward, connect to the amp hidden behind the pots above the steps, to the right of the previous one. Finally, connect to the junction above the gate.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 40.jpg

Convince the Crowd to Not Execute the Gatlian

Now that you’ve opened the gate, speak with the guard before heading through. You can pick through all of the dialogue options to learn more about the incoming execution. Such as how the Gatlian stole money from the Blue Wizard to give to the people. However, the guard explains that they handed that money to him to invest.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 41.jpg

As you get to the end of your conversation, try not to let the guard know that you plan on freeing the Gatlian. After picking Gus’s choice, promising not to interfere, we continued toward the execution. You’ll then have four minutes to convince the crowd to not execute the Gatlian.

To know who specifically to speak with inside the crowd, you can use your Info Scanner. This will give you an objective for each of the three group leaders holding a red foam hand. Picking the right choices will give you a chance to sway the crowd’s opinion and halt the execution.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 42.jpg

After convincing the crowd to stop the execution, the executioner then summons the Blue Wizard. During this moment of distraction, use Knifey on the rope above the Gatlian to cut them free. You’ll then grab Bowie for your crew of weapons. Which is convenient, as the Blue Wizard summons a bunch of ghouls for us to fight.

Head Towards the Blue Wizard’s Castle

Defeat the incoming green leaping ghouls and flying cherubs. After doing so, two wooden doors near the gate we came from will open. This leads down a narrow corridor with more ghouls to slay. Once you get through the corridor, you’ll be on the other side of the previous area we were in.

Aside from fighting the usual enemies, we’ll see a new purple ghoul that can chuck boulders. Upon clearing the area of enemies, you can find a Luglox nearby for a collectible. You’ll need to use Sheath’s electric spike to create a zipline leading to a gate along the river. The junction is slightly to the left of the flaming gate. It then leads to an amplifier across from it and finally an amplifier by the river gate. This Loglox has the Collectible Card 8 – Florgesbor.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 44.jpg

Once you’re ready to continue, use Bowie’s ability while looking at the eye above the flaming gate. This will create a black and white hole that you can shoot through. As long as you lined it up with the gate eye, you’ll see a glowing red symbol to shoot. While looking through the hole, you’ll also trigger slow motion, which can be helpful in a fight.

Shooting the gate eye through Bowie’s ability drops a bunch of water barrels onto the fire below. You can then continue through the opening and make your way to the Blue Wizard’s castle. Follow the linear path until you reach a boulder with a purple symbol/star. Bowie will mention that you can break it using his ability, similar to the gate eye.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 45.jpg

After breaking the boulder, pass through the tunnel where you’ll encounter more ghouls. This opens up into a larger area with a linear path that wraps around the outside. You can also find a boulder near the center that hides a Luglox behind it. Eventually, you’ll reach two barrels of TNT to pop and remove the wall ahead.

Beyond here, you’ll run into more of those flying cherub enemies. Once you’ve cleared them out, the next gate has two eyes you’ll have to hit using Bowie’s ability. As a tooltip explains, you’ll need to hit them around the same time. You can do this by using Bowie’s ability from afar and then getting close to the hole.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 46.jpg

Fight the Boulder-Chucking Ghouls

Advancing through the gate we just opened, you’ll find a bunch of deadly rolling boulders. Before dealing with those, you may notice one stuck in the wall where they end. Use Bowie’s ability to pop it so you can get the Flummis upgrade for him. Afterward, we’ll need to make a plan for getting up the hill without running into boulders.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 47.jpg

The trick to getting up this path is using the hookbugs along the way. You can swing back and forth between platforms on the left and right sides of the path. When you get close to the end, High on Life 2 throws you a small curveball. Instead of tethering to a hookbug above the path, one is below it, leading to the other side.

Once you can see the purple ghoul at the top, take them out, and the boulders will stop rolling. However, you’ll still have to defeat the many other ghouls that appear once you get up there. As goes with any combat encounter, remember to use your abilities to dispose of enemies more easily. Upon clearing the area, it’s time to use Sheath to make a zipline.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 48.jpg

After riding the zipline over, you’ll have a challenging path of platforms to skip between. Since the boulders here have spikes, Sweezy’s Time Bubble is, unfortunately, useless. Instead, we’ll have to rely on using Bowie’s ability to pop incoming boulders. With that said, you can use a couple of hookbugs here to help you get across or speed through it fast to avoid getting hit.

If you want to hunt down another Luglox for a skateboard skin, you can take a hookbug to the right toward a waterfall. You’ll find a hotwall behind the waterfall that you can sling a disc into to climb up. This leads to a Luglox with the Skeletal Deck and a couple of other parts. In order to get back, blow up the nearby boulder to reveal a junction for Sheath.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 49.jpg

The next path we have to travel up while avoiding boulders is simpler than the earlier one. Take the short path to the right of the one with boulders rolling down it. This leads to a hookbug that gets you a bit closer to the top. Then, you can use Bowie to shoot an eye above a gate at the top of the boulder’s path. This will shut the gate and make it much easier for us to continue onward.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 50.jpg

Once you reach the closed gate, you can use a nearby chain to swing to the other side. A fun trick here is to swing to the top of the wall. Then, you can safely shoot down at the many boulder-chucking ghouls. After clearing them out, continue toward the bridge where the Finance Wiz James Stevenson will stop you. This leads to several financial questions that you can either answer or ignore altogether.

Solve the Blue Wizard’s Riddles

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 51.jpg

If you want to solve the Blue Wizard’s questions, we have the answers in this section. But, if you don’t want to, you can shoot the X at the top right corner of his window to close it. Or you can hit the minimize button. Either button makes it easier to shoot the Blue Wizard sigils above the drawbridge using Bowie. Here are the correct answers to shoot for each Blue Wizard riddle question:

If you’re having trouble reading the questions and answers, you can zoom in by aiming with Bowie. Or, you can shoot the maximize button at the top right corner to temporarily expand the window.

After solving all of the Blue Wizard’s riddles, he’ll lower the drawbridge and welcome you into the Blue Wizard family. Answering all of them correctly also gives you the achievement, Why do you know all that stuff? Continue onward, where you’ll see a puzzle for Creature’s children. This appears to only be necessary if you didn’t solve the riddles.

Why do you know all that stuff?

Enter the Blue Wizard’s Castle and Confront Him

Now that we’ve finally made it to the castle, head inside and listen to the Wiz Wealth segment on TV. While waiting, you can break objects in the room and grab some Bounty Juice from the vending machine. Once Wiz Wealth is over, you can continue deeper to find the Blue Wizard himself.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 52.jpg

Enter the next room and travel to the other side, where the Blue Wizard is busy typing away. While he says that he’ll get to you in a minute, you can use Bowie’s ability to see a forcefield around him. Shoot the sigil on the forcefield to trigger a boss fight.

Tips For Fighting James Stevenson

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 53.jpg

Fighting James Stevenson/the Blue Wizard can be confusing if you’re not sure how to deal damage to him. Unlike most High on Life 2 bosses, you can’t shoot at his head or hands to lower his health. Instead, you’ll need to find a vulnerability, Tap to Reveal.

Once you learn how to make Stevenson vulnerable, you can shoot him directly. This will make the large wizard head transparent, revealing him sitting at his floating desk. You’ll need to keep doing this to eventually defeat him. Even though there are some tips and tricks explained in the table below.

James Stevenson’s Attacks
Summons Enemies
He can use his hand to summon a pack of ghouls and cherubs. You can defeat them to get shield capsules.
Shockwave Pulse
Turns his hand to face the ground and then summons a shockwave moving along the floor. He does this twice with a gap in between. You can jump over them or hide behind a pillar. Later on in the fight, he’ll spawn shockwaves above the floor too.
Stone Glove
Forms a stone glove around his hand before reaching out to punch you. You can shoot each finger to break a chunk of the rock off. Once you’ve removed all of the stone, he’ll become vulnerable, similar to breaking a sigil.
Alternating Triangle Forcefields
Shoots triangle forcefields at you, alternating between each hand.
Alternating Triangle Volley
Unlike the alternating triangles, he’ll create a chain of several triangles with one hand to shoot at you. Then, he switches to the other hand to do it again.
Finger Guns
Does finger guns with his hands before shooting cool S projectiles at you.
Solar Explosion
Charges up a big yellow ball near the center of the arena. Hide behind a pillar to avoid getting hurt.
Sigil Forcefield
Flings a large sigil forcefield at you that you can jump through the center of.

Once Stevenson gets to about a fifth of his health bar, he’ll no longer have the big head’s protection. This can make it harder since he’s quicker and no longer telegraphs his moves. But if you need to slow him down, you can still use Bowie’s ability for slow motion. Defeating him will give you the achievement, That’s A Wrap on Character Actor Fred Melamed.

Find a Way Home

After defeating Stevenson, head toward the door to leave. You’ll come across a floating heart that increases your maximum health by 10. Upon reaching the door, it’ll pop open, revealing the townsfolk. Regardless of your choice in conversation, you’ll let them know that the Blue Wizard is dead. This leads to an angry crowd ready to kill you, just before Apples appears.

High on Life 2 James Stevenson 54.jpg

Apples takes the blame to defend us by stating that he was the one who killed the Blue Wizard. In one playthrough, we agreed with him, and the doors then closed. While we still have no idea what Apples did, Bowie emphasizes that it wasn’t good.

Once you’re ready to leave, turn around and head toward the painting to leave. There’s a ramp leading up to it that you can use to skateboard through it. This then completes the mission, Kill Finance Wiz James Stevenson. Return to Quarters and continue the Get Briefed mission before starting Meet Your Mom At Spaceforest Cafe if you haven’t already.
