This is my first ever pc build after casual PC gaming on and off since 1995 😅
It’s been built as cheaply as possible with a mix of used and new parts in UK
Gigabyte B550M mobo £35 used
Ryzen 5600x
Corsair 32gb ddr4 3200 cpu and ram together used £110 in November 25 before Ramageddon !
1tb Wd blue SN580 £50 (new back in December 2025!)
2tb Wd blue SN580 £125 New dec 2026
750w be quiet! Pure power 13 M modular psu £100 new
XFX RX 9070 QUICKSILVER 16gb £548 new in January 26
Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240 rgb £60 new
Arctic P12 pro 120mm non rgb £6 new
Lian li A3 glass case £65
Total cost £1,010 and hopefully can sell my old pc for around £300 so pretty good upgrade
I found building the pc pretty straight forward, I was worried about the full size psu and the big GPU because many people say you really need a sff psu but it was actually fine and I don’t even have the psu in the top most slot at the moment.
Biggest problem was that the psu extension cord in the lian li a3 comes with a very low profile connector into the psu (space saving) but with the be quite psu the on off switch gets pushed down when plugged in! So instead of getting a f
Differnt psu (was out of the return window ) decided to purchase a short extension power cable with a better clearance and it works well.
Another problem I didn’t anticipate at all was that the GPU IS SO THICK that it’s only 5mm or so from bottom of case, so no fans needed! Problem was that it pushed against the bottom mobo plugs especially the front usb case connector so I decided to leave that unplugged as I don’t intent to use the front usb anyway!
I didn’t want too much RGB so it’s just the aio that brings some subtle colour at the moment.

One of my first and most memorable PC gaming experiences was the original Tomb Raider, so as a bit of retro nostalgia my first game on the pc will be the Tomb Raider remaster 😀 not too demanding lol
