I recently decided to upgrade my monitors. I had two 27" monitors and they were starting to get ghosting. I wanted the best and brightest OLED monitor out there. Reviews and user anecdotes pointed to the LG C5. After seeing many setups on here with the LG C5 and side 24" monitors, I decided to go for it.

But I really wanted to mount all three monitors on one monitor arm, specifically with a crossbar where all three screens could be moved together as one unit. After a lot of research I found Uplift Desk's Crestview Align Triple Monitor Arm. Thanks to their detailed technical drawings and specifications, I was reasonably sure it would work.

The Crestview Align Triple Monitor Arm only allows for 13.2 lbs capacity per monitor. I had a suspicion that was just the total capacity divided by three, and not a hard limit for each VESA mount. This was supported by the fact that their Crestview Dual Monitor Arm supported two monitors up to 17.6 lbs each with the same "quick release" VESA mount. So the total capacity should be 13.2 times three: 39.6 pounds. The total weight of the LG C5 and two Dell P2425D monitors together (and without stands) is 35.8.

Another consideration is alignment: the LG and Dell monitors VESA mount points are not aligned. The Dell has its VESA mount centered vertically and horizontally, but the LG's 300×200 VESA mount is not centered vertically. It's bit above center. To overcome this, I used this VESA adapter so that the bottom two brackets are flat and the top two brackets are diagonal, like this:

This shifts the VESA 100×100 mount down to better align with the Dell monitors. In addition to that, the "quick release" VESA mounts on the Crestview have a small ~5mm height adjustment that I used to adjust the Dell monitors up slightly.

The most involved part was the handle. The included monitor arm handle is angled in such a way that it cannot be addd to the Crestview monitor arm without conflicting with the LG C5. So I took it outside, placed some cardboard on the concrete and hit it with a mallet until it warped enough to clear the LG C5.

Overall I’m very happy. The only thing I’d change is more horizontal tilt adjustment for the two Dell 24” monitors so they could be angled in further.
