Following the crash that occurred in The Cleaning House, it’s time to navigate the flooded city as we continue our search for our missing friends.
This comprehensive Reanimal Walkthrough for Chapter 3, After the Flood, provides a 100% walkthrough, complete with checkmarks to help you keep track of every collectible Mask, Propaganda Poster, and Prayer Statue, as well as all unlockable achievements that you can uncover along the way.
After the Flood Walkthrough
Following the car crash, you’ll find yourself back on the beach. When you’re ready, head all the way right and use your crowbar to open the gate attached to the chainlink fence.
Once open, head up the stairs, follow the catwalk all the way to the end, and then climb the ladder up to the roof.
On top of the roof, head left and enter the nearby building.
Inside, head directly across the room and into the back room, where you’ll find a wheel you can pick up.
With the wheel in hand, leave the building and insert it into the device beside the ladder. Once attached, turn the wheel two full rotations to the right, and then proceed to jump across the gaps to the other side. From here, pull the lever to open the flood gate, and then proceed back to the beach.
At the beach, return to your boat and begin making your way towards the flood gate.
For now, the path is linear and there’s no hidden secrets to uncover, so simply make your way through ruins—avoiding the mines and speeding up when prompted—until you escape the flooded grocery store.
Upon escaping, follow the path left, then right, and right once more as you travel through a tunnel beneath an old building—which will collapse after you pass through it. On the other side of the tunnel, park your boat on the nearby beach.
Upon exiting your boat, head up the small stair set to your left, where you’ll find a propaganda poster you can tear down.
After the Flood Propaganda Poster 1
Once collected, head back down the stairs and look for a dumpster along the wall to your left. Use this dumpster to hoist you and your sister up to the partially collapsed building above.
Once up top, continue up the collapsed path and into the nearby building on your left. Inside, you’ll find a deceased person in a lounge chair, with a collection of harpoons sitting on their lap. Pick up the harpoons, and return to your boat.
Back on the water, equip the harpoon as prompted, and then turn your boat around so you’re facing the nearby mine blocking your exit. Using the harpoon, toss it at the mine to explode it.
Once exploded, continue forward and toss a harpoon when prompted at the creature that begins charging toward you—you’ll need to be quick, as these creatures can move quickly.
When defeated, turn right and follow the path forward a short distance until you encounter two more creatures—defeat them. Now, turn right once more and follow the path to the end.
Here, you’ll spot two mines blocking a path that leads left.
Destroy these mines and continue along the path until you beach your boat.
Once beached, head forward and squeeze through the gap in the well-lit fence ahead.
At the bottom of the large staircase inside, you’ll find your second coffin—you must find all coffins to unlock the secret ending.
After the Flood Coffin 1
When you’re ready, return to the main path and destroy the mine blocking the path into the hotel.
With the entrance now cleared, navigate through the flooded hotel, harpooning any creatures that attempt to ambush you along the way.
Angie’s Tip: Remember, slow and steady wins the race. Slowing down during the hotel sequence and waiting for the creatures to come to you can make navigating this section significantly easier. Should you happen to fail during this section, just be sure to re-equip the harpoon upon spawning, as it won’t automatically be equipped.
As you near the end of the hotel sequence, you’ll enter a short cutscene that sees you finding another one of your friends. Before you can even get the chance to properly say hello, they are unexpectedly grabbed by a large bird, who then flies off towards a lighthouse in the distance.
Following this cutscene, you’ll enter a large open area. Before we attempt to get our friend back, let’s first pick up a few collectibles and secrets.
To get started, let’s head all the way around the central island with the cannon—along the way, you’ll find some mines along the rocky outskirts to the right that you can explode and count towards the Naval Blazing trophy.
Quick Note: Don’t worry too much about the cannon and the large creature, as these do not play a role in Chapter 3. Instead, we’ll revisit this area in a later chapter, and deal with their related trophies then.
Once you reach the other side of the cannon island, head towards the nearby rocky outskirt to your left. Follow along the outskirts until you find a small alcove hiding an entrance to a hidden tunnel.
Equip your harpoons and begin making your way through the tunnel, where you’ll soon encounter a lone creature that’ll charge toward you—take them out.
After defeating the creature, continue all the way to the end, where you’ll find a coffin on the beach. Open the coffin to free the spirit.
After the Flood Coffin 2
Once freed, return to your boat and leave the tunnel. When exiting, head towards the red flashing buoy and park your boat on the nearby beach that’s not too far ahead.
Upon arriving on the beach, look for a large ladder that scales the entire length of the cliff face—this ladder is not too far right of the bunker that you can find, but can’t access just yet.
As you approach the ladder, you’ll be attacked by the flock of seagulls. Take them down with your crowbar to unlock the “Tarred and Feathered” trophy.
Tarred and Feathered
Once defeated, climb up the ladder until you reach the top of the cliff.
When arriving at the top, begin heading through the field, and eventually, you’ll spot a scarecrow perched in the field along the left-hand side.
Using your crowbar, hit the scarecrow, and watch as its head falls to the ground and begins to run around—a crab has taken the head up as its home! Kill the critter with your crowbar, and not only will it count towards the Critter Kill Hit trophy, but it’ll also earn you a new mask you can pick up.

No Shelter Mask 1
With the mask collected, continue making your way through the field and towards the barn in the distance. When reaching the barn, head left and squeeze through the gap in the wooden fence. On the other side, attempt to open the door, only to learn that it’s locked.
Hearing a noise out front, return back through the gap in the fence, where you’ll find the metal drum has been tipped over, revealing a key on the ground, amongst the rubbish. Defeat the attacking birds and then head back through the gap in the fence and open the door to the barn.
Upon entering, ignite your light, and take the path that leads right. At the end, you’ll find a hidden prayer statue.
After the Flood Prayer Statue 1
When ready, return to the main path and squeeze your way through the pigs, and then exit via the door to the right.
Once outside, follow the path all the way to the left—eliminating any seagulls that attack along the way. When reaching yet another barn, squeeze through the gap in the wall.
Inside, you’ll find a poster on the back wall, behind the tractor.
After the Flood Propaganda Poster 2
With the poster collected, continue along the path, and enter the lighthouse once you reach the door.
Upon entering, head up the stairs and then use the ladder to reach the top floor.
At the top, approach the bottom of the bird cage that your friend is being held in, and hoist your sister up to let them down.
After crashing to the floor, the large pelican will be alerted to your presence, and a chase will ensue.
As quickly as possible, retrace your steps back to the pig barn, avoiding the birds along the way.
When entering the pig barn, watch as the pelican comes crashing through the roof. Startling the pigs, follow the path right as they begin to escape through a nearby exit—a cutscene will ensue, revealing the pelican becomes trapped, and assumingly, eaten by the pigs.
After escaping the barn, continue forward through the field until you reach a bus shelter. Before sitting down on the bench, you’ll find another propaganda poster taped to the base of the second power pole to your right. If you’ve been following along with our guide and picked up all of the collectibles and secrets along the way, you’ll pop the “Hidden among the pines” trophy.
