It would seem that last week’s Airborne content update for Foxhole did more than lift players into the skies with the introduction of airplanes and related mechanics; it also uplifted the war MMO’s numbers as well, bringing player concurrency on Steam to some new highs as well. And yes, these puns are all intended as well as deserved.

The day after Airborne’s launch saw player numbers on the platform hit a new all-time peak of over 17K, and while the numbers have since tailed off after that point, they’re still higher than they have been previously, averaging roughly 11K in the days since Airborne’s arrival and into the weekend.

As one might expect, developer Siege Camp seems keen to make sure this new release has eyes on the game, particularly as it’s currently at a 40% discount until Monday. Ideally this momentum will keep things aloft. OK that’s the last aerial pun, promise.

Airborne is Live! Foxhole Wars will never be the same again.
