The short story: UC Davis softball’s three-game winning streak game to an end in an early morning loss to Seattle, with the Aggies falling in the first game of two on the schedule at the UNLV Desert Classic’s second day.
LEADING OFF
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies scored in the top of the first inning, when Panziera knocked home Brady who had reached on a fielding error at second, but the 1-0 lead was short lived
In the bottom half of the frame Seattle put three on the board when, with two outs, a three-run home run was sent over the center field wall to make it 3-1
An RBI single in the second and two more runs on the third would be enough for Seattle as they built out a four run lead after three innings
Ediss did deliver a solid final three innings of work, coming out of the pen and holding the Seattle bats at bay, but the Aggie offense had no answer for Seattle’s pitching as the game would end in Seattle’s favor, 7-2
