This might be my last season grinding multiplayer ranked. After this I'm probably switching to DMZ only and hoping they don't start changing the mode just to make it easier for brand-new players.
I've been playing since launch and really loved the game. I grinded to top 50 global leaderboards in both MP and BR across several seasons and even played competitive scrims for a long time.
My friends all left during the BP-50 meta and moved over to PUBG and Delta Force Mobile, but I stuck with COD because it was still fun for me. Lately though it's just not the same.
The meta feels stale with only one or two guns dominating for months and insanely fast TTK. We also keep getting the same ranked maps over and over.
Wildcards brought back Martyrdom and Persistence which are really annoying again. I always run Flak Jacket but in these lobbies people still get one or two bullets off before dying so martyrdom still kills you. If they pop on the objective you're forced to jump out and lose your position.
Wildcards also make it too easy for spammers. You see stuff like Unit Support plus Overclock plus double operator skills plus extra throwables all the time. Matches turn into nonstop Thermite and Man-O-War spam which gets old really fast.
Matchmaking feels broken. I know I'm better than most players in my lobbies but if I'm not top fragging or MVP every game we lose. My teammates aren't bad people they just can't keep up with opponents at my skill level and they probably shouldn't be matched there.
The ranked system punishes you for being good. I pushed Conqueror in PUBG Mobile and Victory Unite in Delta Force—both were tough but they actually rewarded skill when you played well. Here it feels like the game punishes carries and anyone can reach Legendary because of how the ranks are set up.
DMZ's old ranked system was much better. It actually incentivized getting good and if you couldn't climb maybe your skill just wasn't there yet. I get that most people want something less punishing and that's fine—they should keep the current system as is.
But it shouldn't come at the expense of players who want a real challenge. A lot of creators and competitive players have been saying this for a while and I didn't really listen at first but now I completely understand where they're coming from.
They should add a separate competitive mode with no toxic perks or overpowered guns and separate leaderboards. Keep the regular ranked exactly how it is for casual players. PUBG and Delta Force handle this split really well—why can't COD do the same?

Just my thoughts. I know this sub might not agree but I had to get it off my chest.
