Hey guys I'm from Brazil and I finally managed after years to get some income and I'm upgrading my PC. I have a i5 8600k and bought a RTX 5060, now I'm looking for a new CPU.
5500X3D was available for 211$ converted until 2 weeks ago but now there's no more stock, only some pieces for 350$.
I only have 375$ to upgrade since I don't have a formal job. AM5 and any DDR5 is out of question too.
What is available though is the i5 14600kf for 270$, but B760 motherboards are about double the US price, and there are no B660 available, so the only option would be a H610.
Now that's where the catch is, a Brazilian YouTuber reviewed the Asus Prime H610M-A D4 with various CPUs including the 14600k(here's the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7tsBmMyg3s ), and I believe at the time it didn't even have the BIOS limiting PL as on blender test the CPU power draw was above 200w, which obviously overheated this motherboard, BUT he also tested Warzone where the CPU only drew 140w, with the VRM not reaching insane temps.
Now, WHAT IF I limit the PL1/2 to 125w, would it not run safely? I also plan to undervolt it.
I asked ChatGPT to stimulate it but as we all know you can't really trust an AI, so I come here to ask you guys about it, is there something I'm missing?
TL;DR: i5 14600kf with PL1/2 = 125w(or lower) + undervolt on a H610 MOBO with a small VRM heatsink and 6 phases, would it work?
