Our smartphones and tablets continue to get better at gaming, and now there’s a big new title available. As of today, the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider has arrived on Android (and iOS) for $19.99.

Back in 2013, Crystal Dynamics launched a reboot of the iconic Tomb Raider series, with a story following Lara Croft through a shipwreck adventure of survival. While critical reception was great when it first launched, the game has had mixed reviews over the years, in part over how it differs from past entries in the series.

Regardless of how you might feel about it, Tomb Raider (2013) is now landing on Android and iOS, in what is a pretty major release. The game, which was praised for its visuals, still feels like a step beyond what our mobile devices are capable of and, yet, here we are.

Tomb Raider (2013) for Android and iOS is equipped with touch controls alongside support for gamepads and even full keyboard/mouse support.

Feral Interactive, the studio behind the Android and iOS port, explains:

Tomb Raider features intuitive touch controls, as well as full gamepad and keyboard & mouse support, alongside a raft of accessibility and quality of life improvements for the ultimate adventure on the go. This is the complete origin story of gaming’s most intrepid heroine, a blockbuster action-platformer, brought to mobile without compromise, and placed in the palm of your hand.

The game costs $19.99 / £12.99 / €15,99 depending on your region, and is available through the Play Store and App Store now.

Technically, this isn’t the first time Tomb Raider has been available on Android. Way back in 2017 the game was made available to run natively on the Nvidia Shield TV, an impressive feat for the time. But the game never expanded beyond the Shield, so this is the first time it’s been made widely available for Android devices.
