MINOT, N.D. — The Minot State women’s basketball team heads back on the road this week as Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play continues following a split homestand inside the Minot State University Dome.
The Beavers enter the week with a 10-15 overall record and a 7-11 mark in NSIC action after earning a win over Bemidji State on Thursday before falling to Minnesota Duluth on Saturday.
Minot State opened the weekend with a 77-69 comeback victory over Bemidji State. Jessica Mogen led three Beavers in double figures with 18 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks, while Taryn Hamling added 15 points and Maya Aguilar chipped in 13 points and six rebounds. The Beavers rallied from a four-point deficit entering the fourth quarter and closed the game on a 9-0 run to secure the win, out-rebounding Bemidji State 41-35 and holding the Beavers to just 38.8 percent shooting from the field.
Saturday’s matchup saw Minot State fall just short in a 74-71 loss to Minnesota Duluth despite a late surge. Hamling led the Beavers with 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Tiyahna Trottier added 16 points and Mogen finished with 12. Minot State knocked down 12 three-pointers in the contest and outscored the Bulldogs 14-4 over the final five minutes, trimming a double-digit deficit before time expired.
This week, Minot State travels for two key conference matchups. The Beavers will face the University of Minnesota Crookston on Thursday, February 12, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m., before taking on Minnesota State University Moorhead on Saturday, February 14, at 3:30 p.m. as NSIC play continues.
