So I know there is a million threads about this. And in reading a ton of them it seems the community is still divided. My first cpu tuning was pbo advanced, limits to motherboard, scalar on auto, boost override +200, CO -20 all core. I ran this for a while but I wasn’t a fan of the boost behavior. Running high 60’s into low 70’s in cpu intensive games. My temps would be around 41 with no programs or games open and it would randomly go up to 49/50 degrees and hang there then come back down to 41 then back up to 50. Constantly. This week I switched to a static OC of 54ghz at 1.235 volts. This made my idle temps with no programs open drop back down to 41 and stay there. My in game temps are mid to high 50’s in cpu intensive games now. My 3d mark scores are higher with static than pbo. So what am I missing? Static got me better performance and lower temps than pbo. I wanna hear why the pbo ppl think static is not as good for gaming. And I wanna hear from the static oc ppl as to why static is better for gaming. Also if you know of some things to look out for in either case all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
