We’re getting the third character of Street Fighter 6 Season 3, Alex, on March 17, 2026. Alongside Alex’s release, we’re also getting a major balance patch featuring changes for every character.
Capcom recently noted the community’s dissatisfaction with the frequency and impact of previous patches. We’ve heard this type of messaging from Capcom before, but many fans are hopeful that things might actually be different going forward this time.
Street Fighter 6 content creator Chris_F recently released a new video that talked about the upcoming balance update. During this video, he created a tier list that depicted his predictions for which characters he believes will be buffed and who will be nerfed.
It’s interesting to point out that Chris_F believes that Luke, C. Viper and Marisa will be the biggest recipient of buffs in the new patch. Notably, Luke is a combatant that started off very strong when Street Fighter 6 was first released, but has since fallen off hard due to nerfs to his kit while some of his competitors (such as Ryu) received ample buffs.
Meanwhile, Blanka is who Chris_F has labeled as being the character most likely to get hit hard by nerfs. It feels like Blanka has risen to top tier status in recent times, so some nerfs to his abilities would make sense.
JP, Ed and Mai are likely to receive some decent nerfs. Other combatants like Ryu, Mai and Sagat will also receive a fair share of nerfs.
