Blizzard will be hosting a special event later today that offers up a look at the future of Overwatch 2, but one big detail about the game’s future has managed to slip out a bit early.
Thanks to an IGN feature that was accidentally posted early and then yanked, we know that Overwatch 2 is going to get a dedicated Switch 2 version sometime in the Spring. Overwatch 2 is currently available on the original Switch, but paired down in some ways s compared to other versions. While we don’t have the specifics on the Switch 2 version, there’s no doubt it’ll be much closer to the experience PS5/XS players enjoy.
Blizzard hasn’t shared an exact release date for the Switch 2 edition of Overwatch 2 (which Blizzard is renaming to Overwatch across all platforms), but they did say it will be launching alongside Season 2. Hopefully we get a more concrete date soon, and when that happens, we’ll give you the full rundown.
