Alex is the next fighter set to join Street Fighter 6 via the Year 3 Character Pass. Over the course of this weekend, players attending the Taipei Game Show will have the opportunity to try Alex out early.
However, it would seem that video recording isn’t permitted during the Alex showcase. Due to this, Denesis, a former Hong Kong pro living in Japan, has released a video that provides a detailed breakdown of Alex in Street Fighter 6.
Just like with Street Fighter 5, Alex’s crouching medium kick is said to not be special cancellable. Crouching medium punch does have cancellable properties, but Denesis claims that it has shorter range than it previously did.
Standing heavy punch normally won’t be special cancellable. However, it’s interesting to note that this property will actually be added to the move if the player holds and charges the attack.
Flying Cross Chop will still be an effective way to confuse opponents that might be looking for anti-air opportunities, but Denesis advises players to be cautious as it is still extremely unsafe on block.
Flash Chop follow ups will apparently only be possible on hit as they won’t come out on block. Fortunately, this will still be a strong move in pressure situations since Flash Chop will leave Alex at an advantage on block.
