LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks are back at home on Sunday, Feb. 1, for the first of three consecutive games as KU hosts Colorado to Allen Fieldhouse.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Josh Klingler (play-by-play) and Brenda VanLengen (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis and David Lawrence calling the action.

Kansas had its two-game winning streak snapped on Thursday as the Jayhawks fell 79-77 at No. 12 TCU. After trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, KU closed to within two points on three occasions in the second half. Freshman forward Jaliya Davis led the Jayhawks with 29 points and nine rebounds, while junior guard S’Mya Nichols added 24 points. The game marked the third time this season that Davis and Nichols have both scored more than 20 points in the same game.

The Jayhawks are now 13-9 on the season and 3-7 in Big 12 play with eight games remaining in the regular season. Kansas will play five of those eight games at Allen Fieldhouse, where the Jayhawks are 8-3 this season, including an 83-61 victory over Kansas State on Jan. 25 in the last home game.

Davis, the four-time defending Big 12 Freshman of the Week, finished one rebound shy of her first career double-double at TCU. She has now scored 20 or more points eight times in nine games since returning to the lineup on Jan. 1 vs. West Virginia. Davis is the No. 2 leading scorer in the Big 12 during league play, averaging 22.8 points per game.

Nichols recorded her 10th game of 20+ points this season and 35th of her career as she scored 24 on 8-13 shooting at TCU. Nichols also knocked down 6-9 free throws to maintain her national lead in both free throws made (144) and attempted (175), while ranking fourth in the Big 12 averaging 17.9 points per game for the year. Nichols is KU’s all-time leader with 528 free throws made in her career.

Starting her fifth straight game, senior guard Sania Copeland scored eight points with four assists while hitting all six free throws she attempted at TCU. Known for her perimeter defense, Copeland has scored at least five points in five of the last six games.

Senior guard Elle Evans remains the national leader in three-point shooting, hitting 49.0 percent (48-98) of her attempts from long range this season.

Senior forward Lilly Meister has recorded a team-high two double-doubles this season, most recently going for 11 points and 10 rebounds at Baylor on Jan. 11. Meister is fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 9.2 points per game while leading KU with 6.5 rebounds per game.

Sunday’s matchup will be the renewal of an old Big Eight conference rivalry as Colorado comes to Lawrence for the first time since 2011. The Jayhawks have won five straight against the Buffaloes at Allen Fieldhouse, but Colorado claimed an 84-76 victory in Boulder last season in their return to the Big 12.

Colorado comes to Lawrence with a record of 14-7 (5-4 Big 12) following a 56-47 victory at Kansas State on Thursday. The Buffs have won two straight after also defeating Oklahoma State 79-65 on Jan. 25 in Boulder.
