The Tekken World Tour 2025 Finals are happening this weekend and they’ll be taking place in this writer’s home country, more specifically Malmö, Sweden.
Players qualified for the finals on the global leaderboard are GG|Mulgold, TM|Arslan Ash, Falcons|Atif, Falcons|Farzeen, DRX|Knee, DRX|LowHigh, VIT|JeonDDing, SOOP|Ulsan, THY|Chikurin, Varrel|Rangchu, T1|Edge, Reject|Raef, Mirage|Gosain, RRQ|JDCR, GG|Tibetano, VIT|KingReyJr, AQ|TheJon, Edddyy, VP|Mangja and Mirage|Fergus, while the regional leaderboard qualifiers are Yamasa|Nobi, Z10|Breadman, Falcons|Usama Abbasi, LOTUS|DChingiz, ONIC|RTM, RGN, Kanme|Victeemo, Heisenberg, HDG|Noel, CRaZY|Hexmark, Phantasma|Kwstakis, Shaoling, Yondaime, yOReDz and Allidar.
There are several stages to the competition at the Tekken World Tour Finals, and the first part to know is that the four top ranking players on the global leaderboard — namely GG|Mulgold, TM|Arslan Ash, Falcons|Atif and Falcons|Farzeen — skip the initial group stage and instantly qualify for the twenty-person final stage.
This year, the system is similar to last year in which the fifteen regional qualified players will be divided into three groups of five and battle it out in a round robin format from which the top two placers in each group qualify for the next stage.
Next, the remaining sixteen players on the global leaderboard are divided into four groups of four from which the top two placers in each group advance to the final stage. After that, the third placers in each of those groups make up a new group and the one player who places highest among the four in this new group also qualifies to the final group stage.
Once nineteen of the twenty final players have been decided, an open Last Chance Qualifier is held to decide the final player joining the champions for the finals day and since it’s open entry, the players who were eliminated earlier from either the regional groups or the global groups are free to join for another shot at qualification.
On the finals day, the twenty players are divided into groups of five from which each of the top two placers make it into a double-elimination top 8 bracket to finish off the competition.
Streaming is being done at Tekken.
