Alongside the established names, the delegation includes a strong contingent of first-time Olympians. A total of 67 athletes will make their Olympic debuts in Milano Cortina, reflecting a continued generational shift following Beijing 2022. The youngest member of the team is 17-year-old snowboard halfpipe athlete Ren Chongshuo.
China’s contingent for Milano Cortina will be its largest-ever at a Winter Olympics held overseas since the country’s debut at Lake Placid, New York in 1980.
At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, China fielded athletes in 104 events across all seven sports and produced its most successful Winter Games campaign, finishing with 15 medals: nine gold, four silver and two bronze.
