Last week’s World of Warcraft Patch 12.0 promised a transmog revolution with the new outfit system. However, players were less-than-pleased to find their characters stripped of older transmogs and forced to pay to redo their looks — and that price wasn’t cheap.
After quick and fierce pushback, Blizzard promised a free transmog outfit in an upcoming patch, but that wasn’t enough to quell the storm. Fortunately, the studio is making wholesale reductions in the transmog prices, effective as early as today.
“We’re going to lower the cost of outfit creation prices by 50% to bring them more in line with what the prices were prior to the transmog update,” the devs posted yesterday. “This price reduction is currently under development and should be available within the next day. Additionally, we’re going to try to grant the one free transmog to all player-characters as soon as we can, before 12.0.1, hopefully via a hotfix.”
Blizzard also noted that the Trial of Style event will grant everyone a free temporary outfit to use for the event, after which it will vanish into the aether.
