During an interview with Rooflemonger, lead champion designer for 2XKO, Alex Jaffe, had some interesting things to say about future characters that are being planned.
Notably, Caitlyn is the first fighter of Season 1. This year will comprise of three seasons that consist of five characters.
With the addition of Caitlyn, more than one-third of the game’s 12 slots are now made up of characters that hail from Arcane the television series. She joins alongside Ekko, Vi, Jynx and Warwick.
During the interview, Alex Jaffe confirmed that we won’t be seeing anymore Arcane characters “in the near future.” This means that this won’t necessarily be the end of Arcane representation, but now we have a few ideas on who WON’T be revealed next.
“What I’ll say is that we don’t have Arcane characters coming in the near future,” said Jaffe. “You know, we said something in the past about champs, like, we really, really do love the whole roster in League [of Legends].”
This seems to imply that we can eliminate Ambessa Medarda, Cecil B. Heimerdinger, Jayce Talis, LeBlanc, Mel Medarda, Orianna Reveck, Silco, Singed and Viktor as possibilities on who could be incoming as the second DLC fighter of Season 1 since they serve as major characters within Arcane.
