
It started as a project to learn. I’ve always wanted to build a mobile game, and Motherload was one of my favorite Flash games growing up. I really wanted that same loop of digging deeper, getting greedy, and trying to make it back before you blow yourself up.
Along the way I ended up adding quests, challenges, relic hunts, unlockable skins, and even an end-game boss. It became way more fun to build than I expected. All in all it took about 3 months of free time, while working full-time in IT.
