4 months ago, u/PEEK2000 posted THIS VIDEO from youtuber techless, in which he demonstrated the massive audio latency in pc games due to Windows APIs. It shows CS2 being one of the better optimized games in terms of audio latency, but its still being held back by the operating system that people play on, which is mainly Windows. Now, with the recent update, it seems like the latency has been greatly reduced and this might be the reason why shooting feels more responsive. I would be curious to see another audio benchmark after this update and compare it with how it was before. Also, if there is any dev reading this, could you please explain what you did in order to reduce the latency? did you somehow bypass the Windows audio API ?
