Is it really a guild if you’re the only human player among the collection of simulated MMORPG players? It might seem like a deep question on the face of it, but perhaps it’s just better to not gaze at your navel too hard and instead be excited for the various features on deck for Monday, February 2nd, with the next patch for the single-player MMORPG sim Erenshor.

At the top of the list (obviously) is the ability for guilds to be created, along with a “friends only” simulated guild that players won’t be able to join but will compete against for guild rank. This plays a major factor, as the top guild will enjoy a slight buff to their loot drops. There will also be multiple guild-related features including the creation of a guild house known as a Reliquary, a rotating Gods of Erenshor event that grants rank to the guild that defeats a specific enemy, and the ability for players to help guildmates with quests.

Another major feature is the new Reaver class, a magical melee that uses an empowered greatsword to sow fear and apply debuffs while gaining buffs as it loses HP. The class has a variety of tricks including multiple stances, DoT spells, and some AoE skills, which should help keep the hate.

The simulated players are getting a variety of additions as well, including simulated GMs that can enforce rules and jail in-game lawbreakers on top of some admin updates for players like a population slider. Meanwhile, simulated players should group together more naturally, camp locations instead of flood zones, and more easily join the human player’s group.

Other general updates coming in the patch include some class balance tweaks, new ambient sounds, some fade-in and fade-out for in-game music, and a list of bug fixes. The full patch notes for what’s on deck share all the details, while a trailer for the update waits below.
