Cobalt is one of the significant ores you’ll need to find during your journey through Hytale. It’s a critical item for several high-tier weapons, tools, and armor pieces. Getting it and having plenty of this resource is always a good idea, but it can be difficult to track down and know where you need to go to find a lot of it. We’re here to help! Where to Get Cobalt
You can find Cobalt in multiple locations throughout Hytale. However, the best zone to find it without too much trouble is the Whisperfrost Frontiers. Head to snowy areas of your map, where you’ll find plenty of ice all over. You can reliably locate Cobalt by mining it on the surface, typically on the side of mountains, hills, or near the entrances of large caves that lead you underground.
It’s the same region where you can regularly find Gold. You can often mine these useful ores directly from the surface, in contrast to Copper, Iron, or Thorium, which are mostly found underground. Searching underground for Cobalt is still viable, but we recommend waiting until you reach the hills and mountains of the Whisperfrost Frontiers rather than digging down.
You’ll be able to notice Cobalt pretty quick when you see it sticking out of the ground. Unlike the other ores, Cobalt is a dark blue shade, sticking out of the ground. It’s easy to spot, even in the harsh winters.
After you have enough of it, bring it back to your base and place it in your furnace to melt it down into ingots. You’ll want to use it to craft Cobalt-based weapons, armor, and tools. The Cobalt weapons and armor are similar to Thorium, although there are small differences.
For example, the Thorium armor provides you with projectile, poison, and physical protections, whereas the Cobalt armor pieces swap out poison resistance for increased signature attack damage. The choice is up to you, and your playstyle! Both are viable options.
