NE|Dabuz recently released a new tier list for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. All 84 characters have been divided up into nine different tier categories.
Steve remains as the undisputed best character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the meta hasn’t shifted in a significantly enough for his dominance to be toppled. Of course, it’s interesting how Steve went under the radar for so long after he was released back in October 2020 up until the developers concluded that they were finished with balance updates.
Sonic, Mr. Game & Watch, Snake and R.O.B. are also said to be very strong, resulting in their placement in the Upper Top Tier category. Each of these characters have solid wins in the tournament scene and see lots of representation by some of the best players in the world.
Kazuya, Pyra & Mythra, Cloud, Fox, Samus, Bayonetta, Palutena, Luigi, Roy, Joker, Diddy Kong and Min Min have been positioned in the Lower Top Tier group. Fighters like Luigi, Bayonetta and Samus have seen significant rises on tier lists since the game was first released.
Mewtwo, Marth, Villager, Little Mac and Ganondorf are said to be the worst characters in the game right now. Of course, it’s interesting how another recent tier list from Acola and Miya ranked Marth as being the worst combatant in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Dabuz has released a couple of videos that has him explaining each of his placements. Dabuz ends up talking about all 84 fighters over the course of about 50 minutes.
