Ubisoft has seemingly cut a number of roles at its studio in Abu Dhabi over the past month.
The news comes shortly after the company confirmed the closure of Ubisoft Halifax and proposed layoffs at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm.
According to multiple LinkedIn posts from Ubisoft employees based in Abu Dhabi—including one shared in the past 24 hours—it seems the French publisher quietly started the cuts in December 2025.
“Signing off as Ubisoft Abu Dhabi’s Social Media Manager as I’ve been affected by the recent layoffs. I’m incredibly grateful for the 4 years and 9 months I’ve spent here,” said one worker in a post uploaded to LinkedIn in December.
“I took some time to reflect after being impacted by the recent layoffs at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi, and at the risk of sounding a bit sentimental, I just want to say how grateful I am for these three and a half years,” reads another post uploaded at the same time.
Yesterday, another Ubisoft Abu Dhabi employee who said they were impacted by “recent restructuring” explained their time at the studio is coming to an end. “It’s been a chapter full of learning, collaboration, and growth; I am incredibly grateful for the experiences, challenges, and people that made this chapter so meaningful,” they added on LinkedIn.
Game Developer reached out to Ubisoft about the layoffs earlier this week. The company has yet to comment.
Ubisoft Abu Dhabi was established in 2011 and is billed as a ‘regional hub’ for game development. The studio website notes the location employed over 60 people and has worked on titles such as CSI: Hidden Crimes and Growtopia.
