The year 2026 has just started, and there’s still time before we experience the first significant Steam sale of the year. Nevertheless, last year, Valve provided a preview of the sales in the first half of the year, giving us plenty of opportunity to ready our wallets ahead of time.
The first themed event for this year is Detective Fest, which kicks off today and will run for an entire week filled with mysteries. This sale features games at discounted prices, unreleased titles that have promotions in the works, demos, and much more!
The main theme is enigmas – detective games, clues, reasoning, and everything you desire when it comes to unraveling the unknown. Grab your notepad, ready your magnifying glass, and prepare your deductions: it’s time to crack the case.
Of course, you’ll find titles like Blue Prince and Rise of the Golden Idol on sale, along with classic favorites such as Return of the Obra Dinn, L.A. Noire, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, and others.
For bigger discounts, visit a chilly Canadian village in Kona ($1.49 / 1,49€ / £1.30, 90% off) or navigate the tentacles in Call of Cthulhu ($2.99 / 2,99€ / £2.69, 85% off). You can also dive into the strange universe of Tangle Tower from top to bottom ($3.99 / 3,90€ / £3.35, 80% off).
Last but certainly not least, the iconic detective, Sherlock Holmes, has a significant presence in this sale. The Awakened is offered at $5.99 / 5,99€ / £5.99 with an 85% discount, while The Devil’s Daughter is available for $2.99 / 2,99€ / £2.49 (90% off), alongside many more titles that recount the adventures of Holmes and Dr. Watson with reduced prices for the event.
Keep in mind that Steam’s Detective Fest 2026 will continue until January 19, 2026. As always, remember to utilize our comparison tool for finding the best deals on the games you’re interested in.
