Been gaming and streaming from my bed with just laptop for way too long. new year felt like right time to finally build proper setup

nothing crazy expensive but huge upgrade for my workflow

Monitor:

  • Samsung 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor (Model: LC34G55TWWCXXF)
  • G55T series
  • 165Hz refresh rate
  • 2K resolution
  • 1000R curvature
  • 1ms response time
  • DP1.4 support
  • HDR
  • FreeSync "Dragon Knight" ultrawide gaming display

Peripherals:

  • Mouse: MX Anywhere 3S
  • Keyboard: KG610
  • Webcam: Emeet C60E 4K Dual

Gaming Consoles:

  • Nintendo Switch (x1)
  • PlayStation 5 Pro

Laptop:

Lenovo Z50-70 (manufactured in 2015)

audio:

Speakers behind the computer: Computer MusicMonitor™

why i upgraded webcam specifically:

was using laptop camera for streams. looked terrible, weird angle, grainy in my room lighting

got external camera cause it clips onto monitor and handles low light better. makes content creation way less annoying

total cost breakdown:

ultrawide: $380 (open box deal)
laptop stand: $35
keyboard/mouse: already had
emeet smartcam c60e: $60
desk setup: ~$200 (ikea)
lighting: $15

total new spend: $690

what changed for me:

actual desk space means i stream more consistently now. was avoiding it cause laptop-in-bed setup was uncomfortable for long sessions

dual screen is game changer for editing. obs on laptop screen, preview on ultrawide

camera upgrade removed excuse of "my setup looks amateur so why bother"

still want to add:

better boom arm for mic
acoustic panels cause echo is real
maybe monitor light bar
cable management (its a mess under desk)

for people building first setup:

dont need to drop $2k at once. i built this over 3 months buying pieces on sale
prioritize comfort over aesthetics. good chair and desk height > rgb everything

webcam matters more than you think for content creation. laptop cams dont cut it.
